Immigrants to the US from Russia, Germany, Ireland and Italy
Detailed immigration and passenger records are available online at the National Archives. There are more than six million records here, covering waves of immigration from the Irish Potato Famine, along with 19th century Russian, German and Italian immigrants. Many other countries are represented as well, since the records are based on a ship's departure city, rather than country of origin.

You can view many of them on our website, including those of Sidney Reilly, the spy thought to have inspired James Bond. NA’s new security history research signpost provides a good overview of the files, and offers some tips on searching them.
