DNA and Genealogy
To understand your own health and well being you must understand the
health of your ancestors. But who were your ancestors? How did they
live? What legacy have they left for future generations? Are there
long lost cousins out there who could provide you with missing pieces to your
family’s
health-puzzle?.

IRL DOW
The following link includes a list of
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/ulster/down1.htm
For those of you who can pull
this up, there is a series of interesting
interviews from the Roots Web Conference last month.
Included in the list of interviews is one with Feargal O'Donnell of the
Irish Family History Foundation on Roots Television and
with Dick Eastman who conducted all of the nine interviews.
I hope you find this series of interviews helpful and as a
guide to
future research in Ireland
connect and replace it with the now ubiquitous site of www.rootsireland.ie
site. This site is now supported by ALL of the church bodies in Ireland
Cathedral. Finally those originally in charge way back when are now fully
supportive of this venture. And its 'bi-partisan" in its
focus. Feragal O'Donnell is the Manager of the Roots Web center in Armagh.
The one thing to remember here is that ALL church records will
be placed
on their site with no exception. As a result there will
be records here that are not available at LDS and there will be records that
are currently held in "local custody" that will now be
made available to the public. And of course this is a fee based operation.
I would recommend that those of you who are interested that
you view
this interviews for as long as they are available and take
notes. The oldest records [ of which there are a few] date from the 1590's.
Maybe it will give a bit of background for those who
are new to the topic. In a few years RootsIreland.ie will have over 40
million records

Is a genealogical index to the first volume of the Selkirk Burgh
Court Book, covering 1503-1531, and is notable for some of the earliest
examples of certain local surnames. The spellings are quite
extraordinary at times, but if one remembers to treat then AS THEY
SOUND, then you should have no bother.
ALSO references to help with certain instances.
This is the twelfth such index to be placed online at <KinHelp.co.uk>.
